Who we are

TBB’s Tap House is a woman-run, family-owned neighborhood bar located at Springwater Cart Park (formerly Cartlandia) in Southeast Portland.

TBB’s was founded by Arnie and is run day-to-day by his daughter, Aileen and her husband Payton. TBB’s is built on something simple: good drinks, good people, and a space where everyone feels welcome.

And yes - TBB has a story.

TBB stands for The Big Boy - the family’s beloved yellow lab, Dewey. He lived to be 16 and was the kind of dog who believed every gathering was better because he was there. When he passed in 2021, the family chose to carry his nickname “The Big Boy” name forward. In 2022, when they purchased the bar and the lot, the renamed it in his honor.

That’s why we’re dog friendly. Not as a trend, but as a tribute.

TBB now not only stands for the “The Big Boy”, it stands for “The Big Baby” featuring our new family dog Cheatham “Cheatie”. You’ll sometimes find him trotting around the bar and his footprints on the back patio.

We’re an all-ages tap house with a relaxed, dog-centric vibe. Parents grab a pint. Friends meet up before live music or for live music. Regulars settle into their usual spots. New faces become familiar quickly
